Abstract
Hypokalemic periodic paralysis accompanied with thyrotoxicosis is characterized by intermittent flaccid paralysis of
skeletal muscle. The paralysis usually involve the skeletal muscle of the limbs, especially lower extremities. The underlying pathophysiology of the syndrome is not yet to be well characterized and remaines controversial. Intravenous
administration of potassium chloride resulted in complete regression of the symptoms of muscle weakness and paralysis. Correction of the thyrotoxic state is the definite treatment. We present a case of a 33-year-old male who have hypokalemic periodic paralysis accompanied by Graves¡¯ disease.
